Up and coming project

Along with the laundery list of things that i "will get round to" i am thinking about doing a bootleg version of the DV8 comic.

For those of you not interested in comics DV8 was a wildstorm (image) comic with a bunch of teen anti-heros all of which where fuxxed up in someway or another. the original comic and a run of around 50 issues, unfortunatly by then it was a shadow of its former drug taking, alchohol swilling self.

Its something i have passed many an hour in the pub stating "if i could have written DV8 i would have done this....." so rather than just procastenating about it i an posting this in the hopes that i will shame myself into doing something about it

This sounds pretty cool, although I'm not really familiar with the DV8 series, I look forward to seeing what you can do. :)

Which artists worked on DV8 incidently?

ooft a fair few, it started of with Humberto ramos (carear highlight art wise in my opinion) but there was also J.Kirby and a host of other really talented guys as well as some mediocre ones

Cool, Humberto Ramos is a fine artist. I had a Spectacular Spiderman poster of his on my wall for a while, the one with Venom in it.
I'll keep an eye out for this series next I'm in Kollectables.

I like the new stuff in your gallery incedently, you seem to be taking a bit of a new direction. It's cool.

cheers it was stuff for the Carling Academy in Newcastle, could be ongoing with a comic and stuff, its already being put onto T-shirts and Hoodies.

if you see the flyer for the up and coming Pit night in the Arches, I am guilty of that to.

Thats pretty cool mate, you been gatting a lot of paid commissions and stuff then?

Shame that studio thing never worked out really. I've barley done anything, art wise, since I last spoke to you.. I appear to be suffering from artistic block/ lack of confidence in my abilites/ the realisation that I'm shite.. One of the three. ;)

Getting some bits and bobs, really need to stop doing "favours" for people and start getting a bit more bizness minded and charging or at leat charging more than the usual "mates rates"

I m sure its just a block and you will be up and at it in no time, i have faith.

Thanks man, I did a lot of stuff the other night that I'm reasonably happy with. I should be posting them soon.

I suppose commicions for mates are good practice wise, but yeah, you need to get serious eventually. I don't think I'm anywhere near the stage where I can start charging for work, perhaps once I've graduated in a few years.
